With the more and more competitive printing market, the buyers are looking for more vibrant and colorful textile printing.Thought of as the holy grail in digital printing, DTF(Direct Transfer Film) priting has become the emering force in the printing market with its irreplacable merits, which has already achieved the same effect of the screen printing. The traditional screen prinitng, known as high-quality printing, can make the ink well-preserved in the fabric.Besides the cotton, DTF Printers can be printed on blends, spandex, flex, silk, polyester, denim and more.
If you have a printing company, you must know that the product quality depends on the printer and the quality of ink. The same applies in the DTF printing, to get better products, you have to buy high-end printers, heat press machine and good ink that makes sure the smooth of printhead. We recommend you to choose sublistar ink which lineup with high color density and saturation.
What’s the DTF Film?
PET film is needed in DTF printing, but it doesn’t mean that you can choose a kind of PET film randomly, because it may be not suitable to your machine. So what’s the PET film? PET film, known as polyester film, is a kind of packaging film with comprehensive functions. It has good transparency and luster and air tightness. The moisture resistance is moderate, and the moisture permeability decreases at low temperature. The mechanical properties of PET film are excellent, its strength and toughness are the best among all thermoplastic plastics, and its tensile strength and impact strength are much higher than those of ordinary films; It is suitable for printing, paper bag and other secondary processing. PET film also has excellent heat resistance, cold resistance and good chemical resistance and oil resistance
The working Process of DTF
DTF VS DTG
If you pursue low cost film, you might buy a untreated fim with bad quality, which will ruin the fabric or smudge the pattern. In oder to get a good effect, the double-sided cold peel film is a best choice. After being special treated, the colid peel film can undertake high treaure and press, and it can also be compatible with all the large format printers and sofewares. By the way, the cold peel can be sliced and make rolls, which is quite convenient to take out.
The adhesive is also very vital. The pattern cannot be transferred directly to a garment. Instead, an adhesive must be needed help the image adhere to the garment.
The DTF printing is to print on the special tranfer film, spread the hot melt powder on the back side of the PET film, heat press the pattern into the garment and peel the film when it gets cold. As some tiny characters amd technical lines, the DTF printing can also print them clearly. DTF printing also means you don’t have to worry about color difference and fastness. Once the ink is solidified, and it locks the color, so you don’t have to worry about fade over time. The pattern and text printed by DTF are very clear, because heat tranfer prevents the aging of traditional methods.
DTF is more economical than DTG
This can streamline your printing steps and potentially lower your costs. Overall, the DTF printing process is quicker and requires less labor than DTG printing. Pre treat is important in DTG printing, which serves as a barrier to create high quality designs. However, different from DTG, the DTF doesn’t need the pretreatment. It can really lower your expenses. For one thing, DTG machine is more experience than the DTF; for another, you can save a large amount of money without the step of pretreatment.
However, as for DTG, you can’t skip this step. The purpose of pretreatment is to act as a bonding agent, and it is especially necessary when using white ink on dark garments. Pre treat serves as a barrier ensuring that the ink will print onto the garment rather than seep its way into the material and creates high quality designs for your products. Without using pretreatment on dark garments, your design will not be seen, which makes it critical to not skip this step.
Compared with DTG printing, DTF is easier to use, and only a few simple adjustments to the existing printer can liberate the craftsmen. From there, a simple four step process makes T-shirts feel softer and washable than regular vinyl. Welcome to the T-shirt revolution.
